At its AGM on 18th August 2024, the members of the European Same-Sex Dance Association agreed changes to the association’s constitution to increase equity, diversity and inclusion within the organisation. As part of this, the association’s name was changed to the European Equality Dance Association (EEDA).
The Board of EEDA are very excited by this development which will help us to make partner dancing more accessible to a wider range of people across Europe. We’d like to thank the Diversity Working Group for all their hard work on formulating these changes and we are extremely grateful to everyone who provided their views.
It will take the Board some time to work through the impact of the constitutional changes on our various rules and policies, and on our website, social media and other communications. Please bear with us as we make these changes. If you would like to be involved in the work of EEDA or have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact any of the Board Members.
We think that this marks the start of an exciting new chapter in the world of equality dancing in Europe and we look forward to working with our members and fellow dancing, sporting and LGBTQIA+ organisations to put our new ambitions into practice.
The EEDA Board.
